Bar RB Belgians is located seven miles southeast of Birtle, Manitoba and is near the beautiful Birdtail Valley. The farm is owned and run by Robert and Gerrie Berry and family. The herd consists of approximately 120 Belgian horses. The Berrys participate in the NAERIC Draft Horse Classic, the Manitoba Pennwoods Draft Horse Futurity, the North Country Breeders Sale, and the Keystone Select Sale to name a few. The farm was originally started by Robert's dad, Reg Berry in the early 1940s. Gerrie's dad, Stu Taylor, was one of the original equine ranchers in Manitoba. Robert and Gerrie Berry continue to strive for higher quality performance horses. Robert is currently a director on the NAERIC (North American Equine Rancher Information Council) board and has served on the MERA (Manitoba Equine Ranchers Association) board.

Robert and Gerrie have three children, Marc, Rick and Robyn, and two grandchildren, Joe and Natalie. They have all been, and continue to be very active in all aspects of the farming operation. Marc, a trained farrier, has returned to Birtle to work at Bar RB. Rick and his wife Tonya make their home in Denver and Rick plays professional hockey. They have one daughter, Natalie Lauren. Robyn has completed high school and is furthering her education. The Berry family competes in five to six draft shows each year.
